Welcome to the East Bay Dance Center

The East Bay Dance Center (EBDC) was established in 1990 by Bonnie Sita to offer dance in its many forms to all ages and levels, and to provide quality performances and performing opportunities in the community.

We offer a fun, clean and safe environment where children and adults can learn a variety of styles of dance. Our caring, professional staff has many years of dance and teaching experience.

The East Bay Dance Center is located in the Glenview District of Oakland. Nearby are restaurants, cafes, and a variety of shops and businesses for your enjoyment and convenience.

Move Dance Theatre (EBDC)

East Bay Dance has three performing companies:

  • Move Dance Theatre (established in 1984 by Bonnie Sita and the late Toney Pennewell) for teens and adults
  • MDT II (ages 12-18)
  • MDT III (ages 10-14)

MDT offers dancers pre-professional and professional training and performing opportunities. Move Dance Theatre received a Mayoral Proclamation in 1994 for their artistic contributions to the City of Oakland.

At our studio, we believe everyone is a uniquely talented individual and we will help you work towards your dreams!

We love dance and you will too!
